THE ARTIST

 
 

Venuz White is the Creator and artistic director of AUURUM & AUURAM a multidisciplinary experimental laboratory of glass, color and light and WATER REVELATION, her performative artistic and mystical practice of hydromancy as a communication method to awaken the memory of water

VW Inspiration and investigation come from her relationship with nature, mysticism and science as technologies that bridges ancient and contemporary wisdom in the poetic lenguage of art.

Her work involves direct and indirect methods of social exchange discussions and fore of sacredness, and inter-human and more than human reflections. A relational water, sound and light experiences of interactivity as healing and elevating acts of creation, generating communication processual tools, revealing the invisible into the visible through her unique Water Revelation artistic practice.

Living and working at 3.000 meters above sea level in the Colombian Andean mountains, VW artistic research is directly influenced by the paramo ecosystem, one of the biggest and most biodiverse on the planet, producing 85% of the country’s drinking water. For the past 14 years VW has been on water research and an inner journey learning and exchanging wisdom from ancestral and contemporary technologies with practitioners from different traditions.

EXHIBITIONS

Born in 1978, Bogotá, Colombia.

Venuz White’s artistic career spans over two decades, participating in a number of solo and group exhibitions and projects abroad in New York, Madrid, Paris, Medellín, San Francisco, Bogotá and México City. Prominent institutions include the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art MAMBO; the Medellín Modern Art Museum MAMM; the Central Bank - Banco de la República Art Collection in Colombia; and the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Paris, curated by Nicolas Bourriaud.
